About Our Mentor
Dr.Aruna Shyam M is born on 21.03.1982 at Panjigadde, Kolnadu village, Bantwal Taluk, D.K.District in an agriculture based family in a rural area and did his primary education in an aided Kannada medium Primary School of the same village. After completing his High School at Shrirama Vidyakendra Kalladka, he did his Pre-University from Vittal Pre-University College. He graduated law from Vivekananda Law College, Puttur D.K affiliated to Mangalore University.
Later he got his Masters from Kuvempu University through C.B.R National Law College, Shivamoga and he did his Ph.D. in law at Alliance School of law, Alliance University, Bengaluru.
He was enrolled with the Karnataka State Bar Council, Bengaluru, in the year 2004 and started his trial court practice in the Chambers of Sri. M R Sathyanarayana, Senior Advocate at Shivamoga while doing his masters in law. Later in the year 2006, he joined the Chambers of Sri K.M.Nataraj, Senior Advocate, Addl. Solicitor General of India and Former Addl. Advocate General for Karnataka and started practice in the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka, Trial Courts and Appellate bodies/ Authorities/ Tribunals like KAT, DRT etc. Also appeared in many cases before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
He has dealt with a number of Civil, Criminal,Constitutional, Corporate, Labour, Insurance, Service cases, Election Petitions and good number of cases argued by him has been reported in reputed Law Journals. He was appointed as Amicus-curie in a number of cases besides many Pro-bono/PILs matters before the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka. He has appeared in matters representing the esteemed institutions/organizations like Republic Media House, VRL Media PVT Ltd. Asianet News Network PVT Ltd, Bharath Petroleum Corporation Ltd., TV5 Kannada News ,Kannada prabha Publications Ltd. , Rani Chennamma University, B.D.A, K.S.R.T.C, B.M.T.C, Mangalore University and Karnataka Soaps & Detergents Ltd, among many others.
He is well known for his service towards needy and weaker sections of the society by providing free legal aid service and represented them before the Hon’ble Karnataka High Court as a panel
Advocate for Karnataka High Court Legal Services Committee. He has also served as a Conciliator and Member of the Bench consisting of High Court Judge in Lok-adalats conducted by the Karnataka High Court Legal Services Committee. He has served as youngest Addl. Advocate General to the State of Karnataka for the year 2020 to 2023 and has been nominated as a Member of Academic Council, National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He is also serving as Honorary Visiting Faculty in some institutions and has contributed articles on legal and current issues of public importance. The Hon’ble High court of Karnataka was pleased to designate him as Senior Advocate on 14-12-2021.
